Volleyball halves day one at New York Regional

ITHACA, N.Y.
--- The Lycoming College volleyball team split the first day at the New York Regional Tournament, hosted by Ithaca College. The Lady Warriors fell 3-1 to the host institution and defeated SUNY-Potsdam 3-0.
 
The split moves Lycoming to 11-18 over this season.
 
In the Ithaca game, senior setter Abby Myers had a team-high six kills while handing out 22 assists. Junior outside hitter Megan Schulze (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) scored five kills while sophomore outside hitter Heather Keller (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) recorded four kills. In the back row Emily Abel picked up 14 digs while Alyssa Taylor (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added 13 digs.
 
Against SUNY-Postdam, Myers (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) handed out another 22 assists while Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) scored 10 kills on 37 attempts. Beth Machella (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) earned eight kills as Abel picked up an additional 18 digs.
 
Lycoming is back on the court Sunday, Nov. 1, continuing play at the New York Regional Tournament as it squares off against New York University. The first serve is slated for noon.
