Women's soccer falls 1-0 in OT in final game of the season

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Kati Shaner led the Lycoming College women’s soccer team in shots with three, but the Lady Warriors fell to Lebanon Valley College 1-0 in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 31.

 

Lycoming finishes its 2009 season with an 8-10-1 overall record and a 2-5-0 mark in the Commonwealth Conference while the Dutchmen are now 7-11-1 on the season and 2-5-0 in the league.

 

 Both teams battled throughout the regulation time, forcing an overtime period.

 

The Lady Dutchmen found the back of the net 1:39 into the extra time to earn the victory.

 

In goal, Lycoming’s Chelsea Powers (Dover, Pa./Dover) had a 10 save game, including six in the second period. Kati Shaner (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) finished the game as the only Warrior with multiple shots. Kaitlin Horn (Ringtown, Pa./North Schuylkill) had one shot on goal, as did Kari Shaner (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville). Lycoming held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

 

Under third year head coach Joe Baldunio, the eight wins the lady Warriors picked up this season are the most since the 2007 season.
